Customer Registration Form
: On your first visit you will be required to complete a Customer Registration Form. You will only need to complete this form once or if there are any changes to your contact details or your dog health or behaviour. By completing this form you are agreeing to our terms and conditions which may vary from time to time.

Grooming Procedures
The grooming of dogs is undertaken completely at the owners risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems which Barks n’ Bows cannot be held liable for.
If we feel that de-matting your dog would cause too much stress or discomfort we may recommend a complete clip down. In the event of any dog needing a clip down which will be discussed at the time of the appointment, please be advised that by carrying out this procedure your dog’s appearance will dramatically change and their hair will be very close to the skin. The owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the clipping process, as well as uncovering nicks, cuts or other pre-existing problems. The owner agrees that Barks n’ Bows will not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or pre-existing problems “uncovered” by clipping a badly matted, neglected coat. These pre-existing conditions may include but are not limited to hotspots, sores, parasite infestation, urine and faeces scalding, fungal, bacterial and yeast infections. If these are detected we would recommend you seek immediate advice from your vet. By carrying out this procedure your dog’s appearance will dramatically change and their hair will be very close to the skin.

Teeth cleaning and internal anal gland expressing are deemed to be “veterinary procedures” by some vets and therefore under the Veterinary Surgeons Act we are now prevented from performing these services for you but can recommend a suitable veterinary surgeon if required..

No dog will be subjected to stress or discomfort and all dogs will be groomed in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2007.

Dogs Behaviour
, The owner (or other responsible person) agrees to inform Barks ‘n’ Bows prior to grooming if the dog has previously bitten or has displayed any aggressive behaviour. We reserve the right to muzzle your dog or ask you to muzzle your own dog for the comfort and safety of your dog and others. We reserve the right to refuse to groom your dog if we believe there is any risk to your dog, our staff or others.

Dog Condition
It is assumed that you will present your dog in ‘normal condition’, which means that you groom your dog at home regularly between appointments, and in a non-matted and dry state. Any condition other than ‘normal’ will most probably take longer to deal with and may incur additional charges unless previously agreed.
Please make sure your dog has not eaten 2 hours prior to the visit and the grooming process can be very uncomfortable for your dog with a full stomach.
Please make sure your dog has had the opportunity to go toilet prior their visit. If your dog defecates or urinates during the grooming process and requires a second bath you will be charged appropriately.
We are a flea-free premises and intend to stay that way. If your dog has fleas or you suspect any parasite infestation, please advise us at the time of booking the appointment and the options can be discussed. If we discover fleas on your dog during the grooming process we have no option but to bath your dog in a suitable shampoo in order to prevent any infestation in our premises and your home. A minimum charge of £10 will be added to your bill to cover the additional costs incurred as a result.
Dogs Health
: Our first concern is for the welfare of your dog therefore in the event of injury or illness we reserve the right to seek appropriate veterinary treatment at a veterinary practice of our choice where the owner is unavailable to seek veterinary treatment themselves. All costs in connection with seeking veterinary treatment shall be at the owner’s expense. We therefore recommend you take out adequate pet Insurance.
Appointments
Please notify us of any cancellations at least 48 hours prior to your allocated appointment. If you fail to attend your appointment or notify us of a cancellation, Barks ‘n’ Bows reserve the right to request payment in full for the booked treatment. We do appreciate that in certain circumstances this may not be feasible. On these occasions would ask that you contact us at the earliest opportunity to discuss and rebook where required.
We request all customers arrive at least 5 minutes prior to their appointment time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for an appointment and have not contacted us to discuss, we may have to reschedule your appointment and reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee.
Without prior agreement, it is expected that you will collect your dog at the allocated time or upon receipt of telephone communication that your dog is ready for collection.
All Self Service is at your own risk. We have taken every precaution to ensure your visit is a safe one with safety flooring and ensuring equipment is all in good working order. Barks n Bows cannot be held liable for any accidents or injuries within the salon. Latest update February 2016.
